Jerald Ray "Jack" Drewry, 68, of Pine Bluff, died February 4, 1998, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 30, 1929, at Weakley, Tennessee, a son of the late Boyd Oliver and Alta Blanche Mitchell Drewry.

He was raised and received his education in Weakley County, Tennessee. He later moved to Memphis and worked for General Electric and then Metropolitan Life. He moved to the Pine Bluff area in 1961 with his family and lived here until his death.

He retired in 1988 from the Carpet Barn, which he founded in 1963 as "The Drape Shop." He worked for more than 30 years in the retail business at Pine Bluff. He was a Baptist, a Mason and a member of the Simmons Hunting Club.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Faye Grist Drewry, whom he married September 17, 1949, at Memphis; three sons, Gary Drewry of Little Rock, Ricky Drewry of Pine Bluff and Randy Drewry of Maumelle; a daughter, Sandra Drewry Lundy of Oakland, Tennessee; a brother, Frank Drewry of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a sister, Sarah Drewry Medlin of McKenzie, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday in Cypress Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bill Fitzhugh officiating. Burial will be handled by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
