Freda Elena (Seth) Goodman, 92 of Council Grove, Kansas passed away to be with Our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Council Grove Diversicare.

Freda was born on February 23, 1922 in Parkerville, Kansas to Fred and Lena Seth. She had two older brothers, Alvin (wife-Marvel) and Bill (wife-Clara). All have preceded her in death. She graduated in 3 years from Parkerville High School in 1939 and attended Kansas State University for two years where she studied to be a dietician. She then decided to change her career path and enrolled in Camel's Beauty School at Emporia, Kansas which began her 65-year career as a beautician.

Freda married Naurice Brittain Goodman on April 11, 1941 in Manhattan, Kansas. They divorced in 1965. To this union five children were born: Connie, Bonnie, Becky, Melaney and Fred.

She was saved as a child and grew up teaching Sunday school and attending Parkerville Baptist Church. In her youth she was very active in 4-H and enjoyed participating in any competitive sport including baseball and basketball. She liked swimming in the old horse tank, hunting crawdads and fishing. She loved growing up on the farm.

Freda was a living testimony of her strong faith in Christ and was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Council Grove. She was well known for her homemade chicken n'noodles and rye bread. A faithful mother, always hard working, compassionate and wise, she was a source of inspiration and gave unconditional love to all. She never failed to be there for her family and friends. Her kindness & goodness were blessings to everyone who knew her. They could hear God's voice in her words and saw His love reflected in her eyes. She taught by example - and chose those things which have eternal worth and through her caring ways she showed us all a little piece of heaven here on earth.

Freda is survived by her children and spouses: Connie Olsen (Robert), Council Grove, KS, Bonnie Kraus (Don), Council Grove, KS, Becky Morgan (Steve), Emporia, KS, Melaney Johnson (Jim), Delavan, KS, and Fred (Barb) Goodman, Council Grove, KS.
