This is the writeup of Lillian & Charlie's marriage from the Prattville Progress 18 Jun 1897.
" AT THE HYMENEAL ALTAR - Lehman-Ellis. A large crowd of admiring friends were at the Presbyterian church on last Wednesday evening to witness the marriage of Mr. Charles T. Lehman and Miss Lillian Ellis. The church was most tatily decorated with evergreen and exotic flowers. At 8:30 to the wedding march beautifully rendered the bridal party entered as follows: Flower girls - Neita Loveless and Mary Smith. Ushers - Walter Sandlin, Eugene Northington, D. P. Dixon and Marvin Ellis, R. N. Mabry and Henry Pratt. Attendants - W. R. Gunn and Miss Kate Smith; Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Thomas; Eugene Ware and Miss Lizzie Abernethy; J. N. Cunningham and Miss May Fowler; Sid B. Jones and Miss Bussie Oden. Pages - Earle Sandlin and, Howard Ellis. Maid of Honor - Miss Leonore Oden of Childersburg. Up the left aisle came the bride leaning gracefully on the arm of her father while the groom was accompanied up the right aisle by his best man Robert G. McCarty, of Birmingham. At the altar the bride and groom met, met to commence anew the hourney of life. The words that linked the happy couple together for life were spolen by Rev. J. T. Ponder. Immediately after the marriage the bridal party and invited guests repaired to the home of the bride's parents where an elegant reception was held. The evening was interspersed with sweet music and will long be remembered by those who attended. The bride is the youngest daughter of Capt. W. L. Ellis and has many friends in Prattville who regret to lose her. The groom is one of Birmingham's most substantial young businessmen and stands high in the social and business circles of the Magic City. The bride and groom left yesterday for their home in Birmingham. They carry with them the best wishes of a host of friends.
