Delaware River to fight at White Plains,Trenton(His brother Rubin was killed at Trenton) and was at Valley Forge. David Baker was discharged February 1778. David Baker was given a 100 acres and settled at what is now called BAKERSVILLE.The large BAKER PLANTATION probably inspired the name Bakersville in 1840. A marker was erected in 1964 to honor DAVID BAKER's service.
