Captain Marion Fred Griffin, age 76, of Roswell, passed away Aug 23, 2014.
The son of Fredrick S. and Julia Henderson Griffin, Marion was a graduate of GA Tech, and he retired from Dun and Bradstreet Software Division in 1996. He also retired from the Navy Reserve in 1990 with rank of Captain after 36 years. He and his wife, Kay, loved to travel; they took cruises and toured Europe, but especially liked to spend time with their children on the beach in Florida.
Marion was preceded in death by his daughter, Julia Diane Griffin of Flowery Branch.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Bond Griffin, of Roswell; son, Fredrick S. (Kathy) Griffin, of Flowery Branch; daughters, Annie Elizabeth (Preston) Pickett, of Largo, FL, Kathleen Julia Griffin, of Flowery Branch; granddaughters Camilla Griffin, Lindsey Pickett, Brittany Pickett (John) Dean; great-grandson, Tucker Dean.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 29, 11:00 AM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Roswell Ward, 500 Norcross St. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with military honors.
