from Huntsville Democrat March 14, 1860:

Died on the 6th instant. Mrs. Frances Landman, mother of Mrs. J.H. Beadle of this place in the 87th year of her age. Methodist.

Very little is known at this time of the early years of Frances Louise Moore. We are certain she was born in Campbell County, Virginia in 1773, but her parentage is unknown. She married William Thomas Landman (1770-1829) in Virginia and her first four children were born there, before the family moved to northern Alabama around 1809. We know of nine children and they are:

1) Elizabeth Landman 1798-
m. George P. Simmons; John E. Snodgrass
2) William Landman 1799-1828
m. Elizabeth Brice (1801-1827)
3) James Henry Landman 1801-1882
m. Julia Hatton (1799-1875)
4) Royal S. Landman 1809-186?
5) Mary Ann Landman 1810-1852
m. John P. Turner; John E. Snodgrass
6) Samuel "Saul" Landman 1812-1889
m. Mariah Carmichael (1817-1896)
7) George Purdon Landman 1813-1840
m. Eliza Jane Griffin (1815-1893)
8) Frances Moore "Fannie" Landman 1815-1852
m. Abram H. Sibley (1804-1864)
9) Paulina G. "Lena" Landman 1817-1886
m. Joshua H. Beadle (1813-1885)
