Vernon Lynn Cook, 56, of Hickory, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice, following a period of declining health.
Vernon was born on October 9, 1957 in Burke County to Glenard Cook and the late Margaret Smith Cook. He was previously employed at Broughton Hospital and was U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by one brother, Randy Cook.
Survivors include one son, of Icard and one brother of Hickory.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Dale Faulkenbury officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Memorial Gardens in Connelly Springs.
