He had lived all but 14 years of his life in Gracemont Oklahoma. He attended Spring Creek and Gracemont schools and farmed southwest of Gracemont. He worked several years at Porterville , California before returning to Gracemont to farm. In 1972 he opened Abbott's Processing Plant, which he ran until 1982. He was a member of Top Square Baptist Church. He never wore his false teeth and could chew a steak without them. He had a great sense of humor and kept us laughing. We called him "Uncle Marvin". He chewed tobacco and was very slim in build. He was a very hard worker.
