Phillip J. McDonald, age 35 of Hastings, passed away August 27, 2014 in St. Anthony, Idaho.

Phillip was born August 9, 1979 in Kearney, Nebraska to Daniel and Lynee (Hardesty) McDonald. He attended Overton High School and graduated with the class of 1998.

On July 17, 2004, Phillip married Christina Louann Fox in Lexington, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with 2 sons, Jayce James and Parker John. Phillip and Christina made their home in Hastings, Nebraska where he worked at Raynor Door for more than 12 years.

Phillip was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan. He enjoyed fireworks and was an active outdoorsman. Phillip was a loving and devoted husband and father. His most cherished times were spent with family and friends. Phillip will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Audrey Hardesty, Floyd and Josephine McDonald, Evelyn and Wesley Fox; and cousin David Hardesty.

Phillip is lovingly survived by his wife, Christina and 2 sons, Jayce and Parker of Hastings; parents Lynee (Tim) McGuire of Lexington and Dan (Barb) McDonald of Overton; sister Tracy (Todd) Naylor of Lexington; brother Troy (Lincey) McDonald of Lexington; grandparents, Hap Hardesty of Lexington and Betty and Sal Hernandez of Watertown, TN; brother-in-law Steven (Tabitha) Fox of Hastings; mother-in-law, Carmen (Ed) Taylor of Watertown, TN; father-in-law, Wallace Fox of Johnson Lake; nieces and nephews, Daylen, Daven, Dawson, Quinton, Calliegh and Bridget.

Services will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington.

Burial will be at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery East of Lexington. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad and Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington are in charge of arrangements.
