Colmesneil – Funeral services for Woodrow B. Wigley, 79, of Colmesneil, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 1993, in the Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with Bro. Don Huckeba, Bro. John McKee, and Bro. J. C. Carter officiating. Burial followed in the Mann's Chapel Cemetery near Colmesneil.
Mr. Wigley died April 2, 1993, at the Tyler County Hospital in Woodville.
A native and lifelong resident of Colmesneil, Mr. Wigley was retired from the timber industry having worked at W. T. Carter and E & L Lumber Co. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of VFW Post No. 2033, a lifetime member of the Disabled Veterans and a member of Mann's Chapel Congregational Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Daphne Wigley of Colmesneil; three sons, Jerry Wigley, Dale Wigley and Willie Wigley, all of Lufkin; two daughters, Sally Wallace of Woodville and Susan Wigley of Colmesneil; a brother, Lawrence Wigley of Woodville; five sisters, Johnnie Rawls of Lufkin, Rena Simmons of Amarillo, Seda Kirk of Houston, Hazel Cloyd and Beatrice Irvine, both of Woodville; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers included Jerry Best, Charles Irvine, Billy Ray Irvine, Tommy McKee, Ray McKee, and C. D. Woodrome.
The family has asked that memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans Organization.
Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville directed the arrangements.
