Katie married Jacob De Wilde

Katie and Jacob are the parents of three children:

~Harold Jacob b. February 9, 1905

~Waldo b. November 24, 1906

~Alice b. March 2, 1909 d. 1909

Katharine De Vries was born in Amsterdam Holland on April 13, 1881 coming to America with her parents in 1891 and living in Sioux county until 1903. She was married to Jake De Wilde and moved to Downing Wisconsin their present home where ho has a position as cashier in a bank. She died March 12, 1909 leaving three little children, the youngest a baby girl ten days old. She was buried in the Boyden Cemetery from the Holland church on March 16. The sermons were in Holland and English. The loads of beautiful flowers bespoke the high esteem in which she was held by her host of friends. She was an active worker in the Methodist church at Downing.

Besides her husband and children she leaves her aged parents and four sisters and six brothers to mourn her early departure, A host of friends and neighbors join in sympathy with the bereaved family.
