Mr. Jesse Wayne Ramsey, affectionately known as "Buddy", passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon after an illness.
Born in the Bennettsville Township of Marlboro County, SC, on February 9, 1954, he was the son of the late Jesse Calvin Ramsey, Sr. and Polly Ann Locklear Ramsey. He enjoyed watching T.V. and before moving to Dillon, "Buddy" enjoyed visiting daily with all of his friends at the Berea Stop & Shop in the Berea Community of McColl. He was of the Methodist faith.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Rogers Funeral Home with burial following at Priest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 P.M. at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the funeral service.
"Buddy" is survived by two sisters, Polly Creech of Bennettsville and Nancy Geneva Jones (Rick) of Florence; three nephews, Richard Evans Ramsey of McColl, Tony (Elaine) Creech of Wallace and Shanon McPhatter of Florence; also a host of friends; and a very special friend, Patricia Diane Radford of Clio.
"Buddy" was preceded in death by his parents listed above; by two brothers, Jesse (J.C.) Calvin Ramsey, Jr. and James Ramsey; and by a sister, Margie Ramsey.
