Carl E. Johnston, Sr., of Petal, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Moore Petal Chapel with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Mr. Johnston was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and the Navy Reserves. He worked for the railroad for many years until his retirement and then went to work for the City of Petal. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Johnston; his parents, Robert and Clara Johnston; his brothers, Bernard Johnston and Lamar Johnston; and his sister, Hilda Vail.
