Major League Baseball Player. Nicknamed "Mickey Mouse" or "Mountain Music", he pitched for New York Giants from 1937 to 1944 after six years in the International League. Over his eight year career, he went 86-80 appearing in 272 games. He started 179 of them and completed 65 pitching 13 shutouts and saving 16. He led the league in saves in 1937 with seven. He also appeared in the 1937 World Series against the New York Yankees. He pitched in three of the games, starting Games Two and Five and recorded losses for both. He also pitched in middle relief of Game Three. He later went on to pitch in the Pacific Coast League.
