OBITUARY
Clinton Heuett, a longtime resident of Wenatchee since 1964, passed away on February 3, 2011, on his 87th birthday, after a long illness. Clnton was born Febraury 3, 1914, in Jacques Spur, ID, to George and Lena Heuett. Clinton began working in Tacoma Shipyards at age 16, prior to WWII. He joined the S. S. Army in 1941, and served in Hawaii and Italy during WWII. after the War, he returned to Lewiston, ID, where he met and soon married Betty Adamson in February of 1947.
He worked as a house builder in partnership with his older brothers for a few years in Lewiston, ID. He later worked as a Millwright/Welder throughout the Pacific Northwest on various projects, including the hydroelectric dams all up the Columbia River. In 1972, he started working for Alcoa and retired in 1991, after 19 years.
Clinton and Betty's union blessed them with six sons, Richard of Snohomish, WA, Steven of Quilcene, WA, Wayne of East Wenatchee, WA, Monte of Selah, WA, and Kelly of Sun Valley, ID. Son, Scott preceded Clinton in death in 1994; and his wife, Betty, passed away in 2004. Clinton also had 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Clinton shared the last of his treasured years with his partner, Ruth Rushmore, until his passing.
Clinton's passions in life were fishing and hunting in the outdoors. He also loved to play pinochle and cribbage card games and he played frequently at the Wenatchee Senior Center. He was also a frequent participant in the dances at held a at the Senior Center.
A celebration of Clinton's life and Memorial Services will be held at Jones & Jones~Betts Funeral Home in Wenatchee on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at 1:00 p.m.
