Thomas William Berry, 96, St. Clair, died at Sullivan Tuesday, April 2, 2002. He was born January 9, 1906, at Rector, Arkansas, son of William Edward Berry and wife Georgia Ann Victoria, nee Ward. On July 27, 1927, he was united in marriage to Ruth M. Hogeland and the couple had seven children. Later in life, Thomas was married to Flora Berry, Orvie Smith, Helen Kirn, Ruth Jacks,Ruby Wallace and Vivian Sprung. Mr. Berry was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, St. Clair. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Georgia Berry; two daughters,Estelline Berry and Katie Parrish; six brothers, Uel Berry, Hubert Berry, Charles Berry,James Berry, William Berry Jr. and an unnamed infant; six sisters, Ola Burden, Lena Burden, Leetha Johnson, Zelma Story, Verlie Jenkins and Nadine Holman; one grandchild;and one great-grandchild. Mr. Berry is survived by one son, Vern Berry and wife Lynne, Robertsville; four daughters, Mary Graham and husband Bob, Pacific, Louise Redden, Festus, Wilma Britton and husband David, St. Charles, and Rida Atchison, St. Clair; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great-, great-great,and great-great-great-nieces and -nephews; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 3, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St.Clair, with Reverend Richard Don officiating. Graveside services were held Thursday, April 4, at Dunklin Memorial Gardens, Kennett,with Reverend Dale Rickman officiating. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association are preferred.
