Daughter of John C. Haas of Philadelphia, sister of Rev. John A. W. Haas and Rev. George C. F. Haas, wife of William Bell Tetamore. Emma survived terrible injuries received in the General Slocum disaster in 1904 and wed William in 1906. William's first wife, Sophia Hansen Tetamore, and child had died in the Slocum tragedy, along with other members of the Haas and Tetamore families. Emma lost her life in a house fire in Stroudsburg, PA while visiting her brother John, president of Muhlenberg College.
