Dewey Edward Kallenbach, 82, Tuscumbia, died at his home. A lifelong resident of the Tuscumbia community. He was born at Tuscumbia to J.E. and Hattie Maylee Kallenbach. On June 5, 1918, he was married at Ulman to Ina McCommons, who died May 27, 1977.
Dewey attended Tuscumbia High School. For a number of years he operated an appliance business in Tuscumbia. He was a member of the board of directors of the Bank of Tuscumbia, a charter member of the Tuscumbia Lions Club and member of the Tuscumbia Presbyterian Church, Masons, Odd Fellows and Modern Woodmen.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. C.E. Fendorf, Jefferson City and Mrs. Asa Mayfield, Eldon; a brother, Dr. Joseph Kallenbach, Ann Arbor, Mich. A son died in infancy.
Funeral services were held at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Cole officiating. Burial was in the Tuscumbia Cemetery.
