Daniel E. Deneault, 65 of Topeka, died August 27, 2014. He was born on June 16, 1949 in Concordia, the son of Ernest and Cecelia (Koch) Deneault. Daniel attended the University of Kansas, earning a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering degree. He then received his MBA from Fort Hays State University. He worked as the Assistant Chief of Engineering at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Hospital in Topeka. Daniel was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, where he served on the Grounds Committee and worked on the early stages of the church's renovation.
He married Barbara Hansen on September 20, 1969. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother Cecelia Deneault, son Benjamin Deneault, daughter Elizabeth Lutz and his three beautiful grandchildren, Linus Deneault, Avery Lutz and Kira Lutz. Nine sisters and two brothers also survive.
Daniel will lie in state after 3:00 P.M. on Monday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church. Cremation will follow the mass. The family suggests contributions be made to St. Matthew Parish and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
