CENTRAL CITY — Theresa Agnes Burbach, 90, of Central City died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at Central City Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Central City, with Msgr. Nelson Newman officiating. Interment is in the Central City Cemetery. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Burbach was born Oct. 16, 1923, in rural Coleridge to Mike and Mary Agnes (Mackey) Conley, the eighth of 11 children. She attended school in rural Cedar County and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Hartington in 1941. Theresa was united in marriage to Leonard W. Burbach on June 4, 1947. They farmed in Hartington until 1954, then moved to Norfolk until moving to Central City in 1966. In 1969, they moved to Dodge and in 1973, they returned to live in Central City. Theresa worked as a hostess for Bosselman-Eaton’s in Grand Island for many years, she was a nurse’s aide at the Norfolk Regional Center and was a waitress at Dan’s Cafe in Norfolk. Theresa and Leonard had a large garden and sold their produce locally. Leonard died Nov. 8, 1989, and Theresa moved to Central City Care Center in 1995.

Theresa was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Central City and the Altar Society. As a young woman, she enjoyed playing bridge and family get-togethers with her sisters. She enjoyed baking pies for the church fundraisers, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Wisner with her sisters, taking long walks, and she was very proud of her Irish Heritage. Theresa’s greatest pleasure came from spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Leonard Conley Burbach of Pisgah, Iowa, Nancy and Mel Schaecher of Battle Creek, Jolene “Jodi” Christensen of Waterloo, and Richard “Rich” Burbach of Central City; seven grandchildren, Leonard and Angela Schaecher of O’Neil, Lance and Una Schaecher of Des Moines, Iowa, Jenny Garcia of Elkhorn, Amanda Hogancamp of Sioux City, Iowa, and Tara, Adam and Erin Burbach; 11 great-grandchildren, Christopher and Alejandro Garcia, Leonard, Jr., Nick, Abraham, Anthony, Autumn, and Addison Schaecher, Kaylea and Addison Swank, and Quinton Hogancamp Jr.; sister, Shirley Bernard of California; sister-in-law, Ann (Burbach) Janssen of Bellevue; and brother-in-law, Ray LaFleur of Jefferson, S.D.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Kenny, in 1987 and son, Jay, in 2013; grandson, Lawrence Schaecher, in 1971; and granddaughter, Lorri Schaecher, in 1972.
