Dr. Robert W. Gregg, 76, of Cardington died early today (Sat. May 25) in Morrow County Hospital after a long illness. His wife, Dora, preceded him in death recently, in February.

Dr. Gregg was born in Upper Sandusky, was graduated from Upper Sandusky High School and in 1921 from Ohio Wesleyan University. He received his M.D. from Wayne University in 1927 and took further education at Detroit College of Medicine and Surgery. He served his residency at Harper Hospital in Detroit and internship in Flint, Michigan. Dr. Gregg practiced in the Marengo and Wakeman communities, and served at the Cleveland Clinic. His last practice was in the Cardington area.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War I and received the Purple Heart and First Oak Leaf Cluster. Dr. Gregg was a member of the 42nd Rainbow Division and the American Legion.

He leaves sons, Charles Gregg in Michigan, William 'Bill Gregg of Mount Gilead; a step-son; and step-daughter; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Jane Ellis of St. Petersburg, FL, Miss Helen Gregg of Upper Sandusky, and Mrs. Harriett Stokely of California.

Services will be in Snyder Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Cardington Cemetery.
