Steve Edward Bond, 52, of El Dorado, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home.

He was born Oct. 2, 1961, to E.A. and Gladys Howell Bond in Malvern. He was of the Baptist faith, graduated from El Dorado High School in 1980 and then attended Rochester Institute for the Deaf. Steve worked for the El Dorado News-Times and Benchmark.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his sister, Carolyn Greer (Terry) of Hot Springs Village; niece, Angie Norman (Terry) of El Dorado; nephew, Scott Greer (Samantha) of Memphis, Tenn.; four great-nieces and nephews that he adored and a special feline friend, Abby.

Steve’s family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Hudson Memorial Nursing and the South Arkansas Center on Aging for their care.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Memorials may be made to Hudson Memorial Nursing Home, 700 N. College, El Dorado, AR 71730.
