Jerry enjoyed a successful career with Amoco as an electrical engineer and then went on to his true passion of teaching. He was a college professor for more than 25 years at Texas Lutheran College and Amarillo College. He was always doing for others but never wanted credit or recognition. Jerry was very courageous in his battle with cancer and was the epitome of grace and strength throughout his illness. He was affectionately known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren and was a pushover for whatever they wanted to do. Jerry enjoyed playing golf back in Amarillo with his golf buddies. He was a graduate of Texas Tech University and always supported his Red Raiders. Jerry will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A graveside service for Jerry will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas with Pastor Howard Batson officiating.
