On February 3,1657 he married Ruth Alden [b.1634/5-1674] when he was about 24 years of age and she was 23. Ruth was the daughter of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins Alden, and a second generation Mayflower Descendant.
He married, second, Sept 21,1675, Anne, the widow of Samuel Sturtevant. He had no children by that marriage.
Children(by first marriage): John Bass Jr, Samuel Bass, Ruth Bass Webb, Joseph Bass, Hannah Bass Adams, Mary Bass Webb Copeland Spear, Sarah Bass Thayer, and Philip Bass.
