Lorah Jerusha Whitaker was born on January 22, 1882 in Newton, Cache County, Utah to Leander Jefferson Whitaker and Ann Eliza Mitchell Whitaker. She moved with her family to Downey, Idaho in 1894, where she lived for the rest of her life.
