Miami Dailey News-Record (Miami, Oklahoma) Sunday, May 30, 1937.
Funeral for Mrs. Sarah Hamner. Whiteis were conducted at 2 o'clock last Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Sarah H. Whiteis, the Reverend Shurfelt officiating. Mrs. Whiteis died Friday May 21. Surviving are four sons, W. E. Luther, Ike, Jake and Otto and one daughter, Mrs. Mattie Hendricks of Pawhuska. Burial was in the Ottawa cemetery, with Bert Griggs, H. Smith, Green Howard, Russell Berry, Wilber Powers and Mr. Doty as pallbearers. Luginbuel Funeral directors in charge. Sarah's children that are listed in her obituary were by a previous marriage to a Mr. Luther before she married Cyrus B. Whiteis.
* In my opinion of what the Whiteis book states, that he was married to Sarah Luther and then was married a Sally which could of been the same person, as all of the Whiteis family referred to an "Aunt Sally", which certainly could of been.
