Amos Daniel "Danny" Shawcroft , 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Jerome, Idaho on August 24, 2014.
Danny graduated from La Jara High School in May 1960. He joined the US Navy and proudly served 3 years. Following his honorable discharge he returned to the San Luis Valley where he married Lenora Nell Smith in 1964. They had two sons, Just Archer and Brian Daniel. Danny worked for Western Electric in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1976 he moved with his family to Jerome, Idaho where he worked for Mountain Bell, retiring in 2002. Danny enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Nell, son Brian, grandchildren Kayla Lynn, Naomi Jade, and Stevyn, brothers Bruce (Janis) Shawcroft, Castle Rock, Jerry (Philomena) Shawcroft, Alamosa, Bill Shawcroft, Pueblo, sisters Judy (George) Kelloff, Monte Vista, Kathy Parsons, Alamosa, brothers in law, Steven ( Kay) Smith, La Jara, Cecil (Rosario) Smith, Twin Falls, James Abernathy, Mesa, sister In Law, Judy (Orville) Edwards, Ekert.
He was preceded in death by his son Justin, his parents, Amos and Margaret Shawcroft, sister Darlene Abernathy and brother in law and friend Jerome Parsons.
Danny will be remembered and missed by those who knew and loved him. Cremation was chosen and a family service will be held at a later date.
