Dale D. Shaw, 76, of Route 208, Kennerdell, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at his home, after a brief period of illness. Born March 16, 1938, in Clinton Township on his family farm in Venango County he was the son of Frank D. Shaw and Esther G. Shaw.

He graduated in 1955 from Victory Joint High School, attended Tarkeo College in Topeka, Kansas, where he received his business management degree, and attended American University while in the United States Air Force. Dale was enlisted in the Air Force in September 1960 and discharged in 1964. He worked at the CPT in Franklin from 1965 to 1980 in management, retired from the Farm Service Agency representing Venango, Clarion and Warren counties in 1999 as county executive, and owned and operated the family farm up to present day. He enjoyed helping his family in raising fresh produce which they sold for many years at the family produce stand just outside of Clintonville. He traveled extensively throughout the United States with his family and was presently a supervisor for Clinton Township. He was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church, Clintonville, had been an elder of the church for many years, served on the property committee, and was a trustee for the church. He served on the Pastor Committee in obtaining ministers when the ministers would retire; served on the board of farm bureau and the soil conservation district in Venango County.

On April 17, 1965, he married Pamela J., who survives, with two daughters, Lisa E. Ace and husband, Stephen E., of New Jersey, and Anita K. Sapp and husband, James S., of Grove City; three grandchildren, Caroline M. Ace and Rebecca A. Ace, of New Jersey and Emily G. Sapp of Grove City; three sisters, Dorothy B. Heckathorn and husband, Willard, of Franklin; Erla A. McDermott and husband, Charles, of Ohio; and Rhonda F. Cubbon and husband, Arthur, of Oil City; and two brothers, Dr. Lloyd E. Shaw and his wife, Mary, of Illinois and Alton G. Shaw of Colorado. Deceased are his parents; and a brother, William H. Shaw, who passed away July 9, 2005.

Services will be at 11 am Saturday at the Union Presbyterian Church, 409 Emlenton Street, Clintonville, with the Rev. Tony Catullo officiating. Interment will be at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.
