Actor dog and "first son" of comedian/actor Adam Sandler.

Meatball starred in the 2002 short film titled A Day With Meatball on Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights DVD (produced by Sandler's Meatball Animation production company) which illustrated the dog's passion for food, sleeping, kittens, basketball, movie sets and, most importantly, his constant companion Sandler.

Days after his dog's untimely death, the grieving actor carried Meatball's collar down the red carpet for the premiere of his latest film, 50 First Dates.

The famous English bulldog served as best man and ring bearer when Sandler married Jackie Titone on June 22, 2003, sporting a custom tuxedo and his own white yarmulke.

Meatball's father, Mr. Beefy, starred as a talking pooch in Sandler's 2000 comedy Little Nicky. Meatball was also survived by Sandler's second son, a bulldog named Matzoball.

Still a fan favorite, Sandler's official website continues to provide photos and videos of Meatball.

Cause of death: heart attack, at age 4.
