Jan M. Duncan, 76, of Morrill, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Her memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Morrill Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Reisig officiating. The family has respectfully requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Janice's honor be made in care of First United Methodist Church Morrill, and the Legacy of the Plains (Farm and Ranch) Museum.

Jan was born in Thermopolis Wyoming to Hubert and Mary (Buehner) Borden on July 12, 1938. Jan graduated from Morrill High School in 1956, attended Chadron State College and married her High School sweet heart Jim Duncan on June 9, 1957.

Jan was a loving wife and mother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was very active in her community and church serving in numerous roles involving 4-H, Job's Daughters, Director of Music at her church where she was a member for nearly 60 years. She held other numerous roles in the church including finance and rummage sale (aka Morrill Mall) coordinator. As a dedicated citizen of Morrill she was active in community development and the Horse Creek Rendezvous. She was a member of numerous other organizations and activities including facilitating the local Alzheimer's support group for over twenty years.

Jan is survived by her husband of 57 years Jim Duncan of Morrill; son Dan (Paula Harre) of Lincoln; daughter Dawn (Paul) Straub of Omaha; brother Jerry (Sue) Borden of Corvallis Oregon; Sister-in Law Janice (Alan) Minch of Gering; Brother-in-Law Bill Baker of Morrill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family wants to thank Dr. Vince and Vicki Bjorling, Dr. Mark Hartman, and Prairie Haven Hospice.
