She was born in Ticonderoga, New York, on October 2, 1959, to Maurice and Patricia (Montena) Sawyer. She lived in Crown Point her entire life. Cathy was married to Henry A. Woods on July 27, 1978, recently celebrating their 36 year anniversary.
Cathy's main enjoyment in life was spending time with her family, friends, and close neighbors, as well as her furry shadow, Aries. Her daughters and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved to read and can the goods from Henry's garden - which she enjoyed passing on to her family and friends. Cathy worked alongside Henry at Adirondack Chevrolet surrounded by her co-workers whom she considered her "work" family.
Cathy was survived by her husband, Henry; her mother, Patricia Sawyer; her three daughters, Jessica (Alex) Bosarge of Moriah, New York, Jennifer Woods of Crown Point, Erin Woods of Plattsburgh; grandchildren, Mykenzie Woods-Sherman, Daphne and Ally Bosarge, Maurice Rice, Jaielynn Curley, Wyatt Hughes; sisters, Connie (Mark) Pereau, Carol Sawyer (Kenneth Coe); brother, Robert (Tammy) Sawyer; nephews, Daniel (Donna) Harris and Dustin Sawyer; great nieces and nephew, Paige, Sierra and Trevor Harris; aunt, Myrna Sawyer; uncle, Milton (Theresa) Montena; her brother and sisters-in-law, Myrtle Way, Chet (Sandy) Woods, Patricia (Jim) Sprague, Eva (Jerry) Provoncha, Betty (Tim) Pollack; and numerous nieces and nephews-in-law whom she loved dearly.
She was predeceased by her father, Maurice C. Sawyer.
Calling hours were held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2014, at Harland's Funeral Home in Port Henry, New York, with a graveside service, with Rev. Gregg Trask officiating, at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Fairview Cemetery in Crown Point. A reception to celebrate Cathy's life was held at the Moriah Country Club immediately following the service.
