BELOIT, Wis. - Dennis O. Dwyer, 93, of Beloit, Wis., died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Roscoe, Ill., the son of John and Amanda Kaehler Dwyer, Dennis was a graduate of Hononegah High School. He married Rosabel Schmeling on Aug.. 29, 1935, in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rockford, Ill.; she predeceased him on Nov. 27, 1994. Dennis was a farmer. He was the county president and member of the National Farmers Organization for many years. Dennis was also a member of the Beloit Township School Board for four years and St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Beloit. Dennis was a 4-H leader for more than 25 years.

Survivors include his sons, Bruce (Sharon) Dwyer of Beloit and Curtis (Barbara) Dwyer of Paragould, Ark.; grandchildren, Cynthia (Barry) Helms of Beloit, Jody (Pat) Williams of Houston, Texas, Mark (Kim) Dwyer of Dallas, Texas, Tina (William) Swanson of Beloit, Jill (Dave) Malkow of Bellville, Wis., Tammy Hansen of Beloit, Jennifer (Chris) Burns of Waukesha, Wis., Debra Dwyer of Paragould, Dennis (Valerie) Dwyer of Paragould, Todd (Grace) Melton of Keller, Texas, and Terry (Natalie) Melton of Paragould; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Andrew Dwyer and Ginny of Roscoe and Richard (Martha) Dwyer of Rockton; sister, Amanda Service of Lakeside, Ark,; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Tom Dwyer, Fred Dwyer, William Dwyer and John Dwyer, and sister, Mary Lindahl.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29. in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Mark Yates officiating. Burial in Roscoe Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit. Visitation also will be from 9:30 a.m. to service time Saturday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given in his name to Beloit Regional Hospice or St. John Evangelical Church.
