Mrs. Margurate Theresa Marvin, 76, a Rock Island resident all her life until 15 years ago, died in Columbus Junction, Iowa, at 9:30 o'clock yesterday morning, following an illness of two months. Mrs. Marvin had made her home in Columbus Junction with her son, Louis A. Marvin, the past 15 years.
She was born in Rock Island Nov. 2, 1869, the daughter of Phillip and Jane Roach, and was married to William J. Marvin in Rock Island June 29, 1887. Mrs. Marvin was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Mr. Marvin preceded her in death in 1937. Three children also preceded her.
Surviving are four sons, James F., Rock Island. William P. and F. C. Claire, Moline, and Louis A., Columbus Junction; five daughters, Mesdamse Ethel Weirather, Rock Island. Charlotte Welch, Norwalk, Ohio, Velma Spickler, Andalusia, Margaret Schuh, Donahue, Iowa, and Leola Wilier, Columbus Junction; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow , afternoon in the Wheelan funeral home, the Rev. John F. Fitzpatrick, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic church, Rock Island, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:45 o'clock tonight at the funeral home.
