Gary L. Christian, 67, of Ohlman, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 in his residence. He was born September 21, 1946 in Pana, the son of Herman D. & Lucille Eileen (Waters) Christian.
Gary served in the U.S. Army, and lived most of his life in the Pana and Taylorville areas. He worked at G.S.I. for 18 years as a machine operator & in maintenance. He also loved camping, fishing, the outdoors, and doing mechanic work.
Gary Christian and Beverly Beck were married on May 10, 1969 in Ramsey, IL.
He is survived by his wife: Beverly Christian, Ohlman, IL; sons: Kevin L. Christian & wife Amy, Pana, IL and Loren E. Christian & wife Tonya, Assumption, IL; 4 grandchildren: Tyler, Brent, Austin, & Alleson Christian; brother: Dennis Christian & wife Monyca, Tower Hill, IL; and sisters: Karen Thompson & husband Gene, Herrick, IL; Gloria Evans & husband Rick, Ottawa, IL; Gail Rauch & companion Greg Scribner, Nokomis, IL; Janeen Morell & husband Kenny, Herrick, IL; brother-in-law, Larry Ballard, Pana, IL; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded by his father on June 4, 1977; mother on January 10, 2009; brother, Denyle “Butch” Christian; sister, Doretta Ballard; & granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Christian.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Morell and Rev. Martin Hasley officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
