Elda Althea Joy, 89, passed away at home on the evening of August 21st.

Elda was born in Rexburg, ID to William Ernest Westover and Eulala Elzada Humble on Sept. 19, 1928. Raised and educated in Rexburg, she married Lamar Umphrey eventually making their home in St. Ignatius and was a dedicated homemaker and mother to her 7 children. She later married Clark Herbert Joy and they made their home in Ronan. After his passing with her failing health she moved in with her son Jim in St. Ignatius.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter Laura and is survived by her children Faye, Michael, John, Eldon, Kenneth and Jim a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. As well as many extended family members and friends.

A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she made every effort to make sure that her family learned the values she was raised with and attend every marriage, dedication, blessing and baptism that she possible could no matter how far away from home it may have been. She will be truly missed.

Funeral services held at 3:00 PM Sat., Aug. 23, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - St. Ignatius Ward.
