MORGANTOWN — Elizabeth Ann Michael, 80, of Morgantown passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2014, with her husband Vaughn and her loving family at her side.

Elizabeth (Libby) was born March 15, 1934, in Glen Rogers, West Virginia, daughter of the late Eric and Ina Rehn.

She is survived by her husband and best friend of 58 years, Rev. Vaughn J. Michael; three daughters, Miki Waring, Monica Warden and Miriam Beyer, and sons-in-law, Charles Waring, Doug Warden and Art Beyer, and seven grandchildren, Ryan and Alec Waring, Michael, Leia, Elissa, Lindsey Warden, and Kira Hicks. She also leaves behind her faithful dog Lucy.

Libby was a graduate of West Virginia University with a Business and Economics degree in 1956. Throughout Libby’s life her primary focus was as a homemaker and wife. Later in life she worked as an Executive Secretary and Real Estate Agent.

Libby also was very active in her children’s lives as PTA President, Sunday School Teacher, Girl Scout Leader, Member of her church choir, and church pianist.

Her hobbies were gardening, photography, piano, hiking and travel.

The family will receive friends at Dering-Henson Funeral Home on Sunday, August 24, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and at the Suncrest United Methodist Church on Monday, August 25, 2014, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service hour with Pastor Tim Halloran and Rev. Ronald McCauley officiating.

Burial will follow in the Zion Cemetery, Cheat Lake, WV.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Libby’s memory may be made to Suncrest United Methodist Church, 479 Van Voorhis Road, Morgantown, WV 26505, and earmarked Burlington/Beckley Center.
