Garrett Scott Arion, 14, of Walton, passed away Sunday evening, August 24th at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati.

He was born September 16, 1999 in Kokomo to Scott E. Arion and Jamie (Dalton) Goltz.

Garrett was in the 8th grade at Lewis Cass Jr. High School in Walton. He was an avid sports fan; Kobe Bryant was his favorite player and the Los Angeles Lakers his favorite sports team. He loved playing his PS4 and creating sports edits on the web. He had a passion for learning and enjoyed hunting fishing and swimming.

Surviving family include his parents, Scott Arion, Walton; Jamie (Jason) Dalton-Goltz, Galveston; sister Karley Arion, Walton; grandmothers, Cheryl Arion and Georgetta Dalton, Galveston; great grandmother, Jean King, Kirklin; paternal grandfather, Doug (Pat) Arion, uncles Brian Dalton, Logansport; and Brett (Mary) Arion, Florence, SC; cousins, Jackson and Derian Dalton, Taylor Arion and Marissa McDougal.

Garrett had a large extended family who loved him and enjoyed him every day. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Hanlon Family, especially Josh Hanlon his best friend, the Southeastern School Corporation and the Galveston Vol. Fire Dept.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James R. Dalton and great grandfather, Robert H. King, and maternal great grandmother, Ruth Dalton.

A celebration of Garrett’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m Saturday, August 30th at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Jay Harvey officiating.

Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 pm Friday, August 29th at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Garrett Scott Arion Scholarship fund in care of Southeastern School Corporation. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
