Jamie Christopher Dougharty, known to his friends and family as Gummby, was born on September 6, 1971 in Galveston, Texas to parents Mona Dougharty and JC Lambert.

He died on August 24, 2014 at his home in Brookeland, Texas with family and friends at his his side at the age of 42.

A 1990 graduate of Jasper High School, Jamie lived in the Jasper area throughout his life. He was a volunteer fire fighter for East End, Jasper and Lake Rayburn Volunteer Fire Departments, as well as being a Journeyman Electrician for A.C.T./IPS of Texarkana Texas.

Jamie was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, as well as a lover of NASCAR and Dale Earnheart Jr. He loved fishing, hunting, going to garage sales and coaching his daughters in softball.

Jamie is survived by his wife of 23 years, Marilyn Marie McCollough Dougharty of Brookeland Texas, daughters, Reba Michelle Dougharty Foxworth & husband Harley of Fred, Texas, Katlin Brooke Dougharty and unborn first grandchild, Jacy Lane Dougharty of Brookeland, mother Mona Dougharty Martindale and step-father Sammy Martindale of Jasper, Texas, step Mother Ellen Simmons & husband Ed of Abilene, Texas, sister Tammy Craig & husband Steven of Jasper, brothers Jimmy Lambert & wife Denise and Jeff Lambert of Abilene, Texas. Jamie is also survived by an extensive extended family, including many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Jamie was preceded in death by his father JC Lambert, Step-Father Loren Duckworth (grandmothers Billie Jean Dougharty (Nannie) (41621161) Virginia Lambert, grandfathers JC Dougharty (68752782)and Lee W Dougharty and cousin Kimberly Dougharty.

Services for Jamie will be held at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper on Wednesday August 27, 2014 at 2pm

Burial to follow in Ford Cemetery in Newton County.

Visitation for family and friend will be 5-9pm on Tuesday, August 26, 2014.

Pallbearers are cousins John Orchosky, Dustin Orchosky, Shaun Orchosky, Tony Cochran, Snuffy Weaver, Richie Lundquist and Honorary Pallbearers Steven Craig, Jonathon Wall and son-in-law Harley Foxworth.
