Sara M. (Colbert) Flythe-Lewis, 85, of 118 S. Jefferson Street, Greencastle, PA, died Monday afternoon, August 25, 2014 in Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD. Born September 13, 1928 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard T. and Margaret O. (Smith) Colbert. She was a lifelong resident of the Franklin County area. She and her husband, the late Joshua "Joe" Lewis were married in 1995 and had been together for over 30 years, prior to his death on May 23, 2010. Mrs. Flythe-Lewis worked at Asba Manufacturing in Greencastle, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Greencastle, where she served as treasurer and missionary stewardess. She was also a member of the Frank Carbaugh American Legion Post #343 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Flythe-Lewis enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by five children, Margaret O. Flythe-Burnett and her husband, George of Hagerstown, Betty Long of Warrenton, VA, Dennis W. Flythe and his wife, Judy of Chambersburg, Roy L. Flythe and his wife, Rosa of Fayetteville, and Milton E. Smothers of Greencastle; 23 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Florence Colbert of Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael E. Flythe and Gary W. Flythe; one sister, Ethel Medina; and two brothers, Floyd Robinson and Richard T. Colbert, II.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 30, 2014 in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington Street, Greencastle. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. There will be no public viewing, however the family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Saturday morning, in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Bethel A.M.E. Church, 235 S. Carlisle Street, Greencastle, PA 17225.
