Chris was born December 30, 1944 in Blackfoot Idaho. He attended Jefferson Elementary, Irving Junior High, and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1963. He married Debra Larsen February 15, 1971, and they were later divorced.
As a youth he participated in summer activities playing baseball, softball and Pony league for Alameda pharmacy. He also enjoyed playing basketball.
During high school and after graduation, Chris started working at Okay Food Center as a box boy. Through the years he was promoted to produce manager and later was promoted to store manager. In 1980 he began working for School District No. 25 as Food Service Director where he was responsible for the School Lunch program. He retired June 30, 2008.
He served in the Idaho National Guard and was honorably discharged.
Chris had an unconditional love for his sons and bragged about them and their accomplishments in sports. After his sons were married and had children, he loved attending family holiday gatherings and truly appreciated watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events.
He enjoyed playing golf with his sons and friends and reading Louis L’amour books.
Many words can be used to describe Chris, among these are: loyal, dependable, courteous, and friendly. He always had a smile when greeting you, always gave compliments, and never complained or talked ill of another person.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and John, his brother Mike, and his three wonderful children, Shad, Cory and Scott.
Survivors include his brother, Barry of Ukiah California and his four grandchildren, Madison, Kylie, Ian, and Aubrey.
Chris wished to be cremated and have his ashes buried at Restlawn Cemetery near his sons. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Colonial Funeral home.
