Virginia Ruth Nielsen Hardy passed peacefully into eternity at Beehive Homes Care on a beautiful Sunday morning, August 24, 2014. Virginia was one month short of her 100th birthday.

Born September 24, 1914 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Niels C. Nielsen and Stella Brighton.

Married Harold George Hardy in the Salt Lake Temple on October 2, 1933.

Our mom worked hard all her life, early years as seamstress making draperies and later managing the bakery for Dan's Market.

She attended West High, where she was class vice president.

Always a faithful member of the L.D.S. Church, serving missions in Nauvoo, Illinois and Washington, DC Temple. Served thirty years in the Salt Lake Temple.

Survived by four children, Harold G. Jr., Larry (Dixie), Janice Ellis (Robert), and Jeanne Jewkes (Larry). She has twenty grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband and grandson, Matthew Jewkes.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in the Garden Heights Ward Chapel, 2220 East Fisher Lane (2935 South), where friends and family may visit prior to the services from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
