Manuel graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1953. As a young man he worked for local men's clothing stores and then went on to become the first Spanish policeman in Fort Collins. After joining the National Guard, he went into partnership with Lee Lace to own Lee Lace's Drapery. Manuel also owned Draperies Plus and Zoric Dry Cleaning.
Manuel is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Mikey Feltz, Jr. and is survived by four brothers and five sisters: Mercella Barela, Percalla Romero (Ben), Barbara Gavaldon (Tom), Frank Barela (Priscilla), Judy Solano (Carmel), Savino Barela (Carmen), John Barela (Maryjean}, Bert Barela (Terry), and Valeria Jessica Feltz (Mike), 19 nieces and nephews, 48 great nieces and nephews and 14 great-great nieces and nephews and many good friends.
Rosary will be held at 9:00 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Friends may send condolences to the family at bohlenderfuneralchapel.com.
