Philip Earl Carter, beloved husband and father, died peacefully on August 16, 2014.
Phil was born January 27, 1942 in Melissa, TX. He attended McKinney High School class of 1960 and went to college at Howard Payne University. After graduating, he started his lifelong career as a dedicated, personable, and successful salesman. His best years were spent with Mayo Furniture, retiring at the age of 67.
People that knew him well will never forget his hearty laugh and his love of people; he never met a person that walked away a stranger. His favorite topic of conversation was Oklahoma University and their football program.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. William P. and Loucile Carter.
He is survived by his brothers, Carlos Carter and James Carter; and sister, Nell Jones. He also leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Lucille Carter; children, Greg Carter, Lance Carter, Summer Lindsay; stepchildren, Stefanie Viola and Steven Cole; daughter-in-law, Jilma Carter; and son-in-law, Jeff Lindsay.
Phil will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
