Mr. Ross H. ”Rusty” Hunter, age 80, of Mineola, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014, at his home in Mineola. Ross was born in Titus County near Cookville on June 8, 1934 to the late Walter and Jessie Hunter. He was a former business owner & cattle rancher and spent his most recent years tending to his neighbors and their needs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy Hunter, a beloved son, Michael Wayne Hunter, two brothers, Robert Lewis Hunter and Donald Hunter, and a sister, Linda Sue Hunter.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Johnnie Hunter, sons, Ross A. Hunter and wife, Becca, Bobby Hunter and wife, Karen, all of Winnsboro, son, David Hunter and wife, Kelley, of Windsor, Ca., and daughter, Linda Hunter Finney and husband, David, and daughter-in-law, Vickie Monday and husband, David, also of Winnsboro; brother, John Wesley Hunter and wife, Sallie, of Alvarado, sisters, Shirley Kennedy and husband, Marvin, of Burleson, Josie Carrington and husband, Dee, of Paris, Wilma Lee Giles and husband, Worden, of Burleson, Peggy Strain and husband, Donnie, of Bogota, and Virginia Gwilt and husband, Bob, of Abilene; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and special caretaker, Madonna Hall of Mineola.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Lee Cemetery with Bro. Ronnie Spence officiating.
