Diane P. (Goodine) Johnson, 73, of Norwell, died peacefully August 25, 2014, at the South Shore Nursing Facility in Rockland, with her children by her side. She was born in Boston, daughter of the late Carl and Viola Johnson. She was raised and educated in Milton. Diane took great pride in her Swedish heritage. She was born from a family of sail-makers who emigrated to the United States in the 1920s. Her family used their skills at sail-making and started Peterson Awning Company in Massachusetts. Diane worked for many years as a nursing assistant at Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham, where she was incredibly devoted to her patients. Diane loved dressing to the nines and dancing, loved animals, was devoted to her faith in Jesus, and most importantly loved and was proud of her family. Diane leaves behind her son, Scott E. Edwards of Pembroke; daughters, Lauren D. Patenaude and her husband John of Abington and Hope V. Hockney and her husband Keith of Abington; and eight grandchildren. Dianes family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland, Wednesday, August 27, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral home service will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Milton Cemetery.
