Shannon Candace 'Candy' Akers Roberts, 30, of Sumiton, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at the New Horizon Memorial Chapel with burial in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Rev. Billy Garrett will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 9 p.m. today at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roberts was an operator with the Jefferson County Medical Society. She attended Dora High School and was a member of Argo Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Billie Akers, and her grandfather, Bill Akers.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Roberts; children, Hallie Elizabeth and Anthony Logan Roberts; father and stepmother, Wayne and Ginnie Akers; grandmother, Emma Mae Motte; sister, Shawne Akers Sarr and her husband, Steve; stepsister, Sylvia Hollis and her husband, Jeff; stepbrothers, Leslie Butler, Kenneth Butler and his wife, Carrie; a niece, Emaleigh Sarr; nephews, Zach and Daniel Sarr, Tyler Hollis and Jeffrey Butler; and several aunts and uncles.
