Patricia McNutt Obituary

Patricia Lee 'Patty' McNutt, age 73, of Kendallville, died on Monday, August 25, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Mrs. McNutt was born in Kendallville, Indiana, on July 3, 1941, to the late Elmer Thomas Newton and Grace Phyllis (Englebrecht) Newton. She graduated from Kendallville High School in 1959.

Patty was a longtime employee of McCray Hospital and Parkview Noble Hospital.

She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville where she was active in the Women's Missionary League and Alter Guild.

Patty enjoyed shopping, going on trips to Shipshewana, collecting porcelain dolls, and flower gardening. She always had a good time with "The Gang," a group of her 1959 school classmates that continues getting together each month to dine out, visit with each other, or take a trip. But the most important thing to Patty was getting together with her family and spending quality time each of them.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa and Jim Babyak of Rome City and Amy McNutt of Kendallville; a son, Scott McNutt of Kendallville; her stepgrandchildren, Nicholas "The Big One" Babyak and Adam "The Little One" Babyak; two brothers, Robert Newton of Kendallville and Michael "Mick" and Linda Newton of Kendallville; four nieces, Jenny Newton of Kendallville, Jackie and Monte Perry of Edgerton, Ohio, and Tammy and Dave Hartman and Jodi Hanchar, both of Fort Wayne.; a great-niece, Shelby Brady; and two great-nephews, Gabe and Kobe Brady.

She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Betsy Englebrecht.
Visitation will be today, Wednesday, August 27, 2014, from 3-8 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville, with visitation an hour before the funeral service. Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Robert Shriner. Burial will be at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.

Preferred memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
