LaVern L. "Bud" Brummett

LaVern L. "Bud" Brummett, 86, of Linden, passed away at 4:04 a.m. on August 23, 2014 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. He was born in Tippecanoe County on December 14, 1927 to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Brown) Brummett . On May 17, 1957 he married Donnabelle Julien at Battle Ground Methodist Church and she survives.

He was a farmer and worked at South Raub Elevator, Brickyard, and 22 years at Raybestos. He was a member and former deacon at Woodland Heights Christian Church in Crawfordsville. Bud enjoyed coon hunting, gardening and playing euchre.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Brummett of Linden; three children, Terri Swisher (husband Joe) of Lafayette, Tim Brummett (wife Tammy) of Linden, and Lisa Marlett (husband Joe) of New Richmond; over 50 foster children; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Woodland Heights Christian Church, 468 N. Woodland Heights Dr., Crawfordsville, IN, with Pastors Tony Thomas and Steve Wilke officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
