Ella Jane Gossen was born April 3, 1932 to Abraham and Martha (Kliewer) Epp in Isabella, OK and passed away Saturday morning, August 23, 2014 in the Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford, OK.

Ella Jane was raised in Isabella, OK and received her schooling there through the 8th grade. She moved to Corn, OK where she attended and graduated from Corn Bible Academy in 1950. She worked as a waitress at Tena’s Café and she also did mission work in South Texas. She married Jacob Gossen on December 28, 1951 in Fairview, OK. They made their home in Corn where they engaged in a farming operation including a dairy. They also had a custom harvesting operation which extended from Texas to the Canadian Border.

She was a longtime faithful and active member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church. She has served in many capacities in the church including being a Sunday school teacher and was a pioneer in the development of the Wednesday night fellowship meals, and together with Jacob they served as a deacon couple for 35 years. She loved to cook, enjoyed reading, collecting dolls, collecting bells, cake decorating and enjoyed working puzzles. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with Corn Bible Academy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Donald Epp and Wilbur Epp and a sister, Francis Schmidt Fox.

She is survived by her husband, Jacob, of the home, four sons, Kervin Gossen and wife, Rhonda, of Weatherford, OK, Carey Gossen and wife, Nettie, of Morton, IL, Kenton Gossen and wife, Annette, and Kim Gossen and wife, LeAnn, all of Corn, OK; a sister, Evelyn Pauls, of Okeene, OK and brother Marvin Epp and wife, Charlene, of Broken Arrow, OK.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Cameron Gossen and wife, Sh’Ree, of Cypress, TX, Kelly Waters and husband, Brandon, of Mustang, OK, Jerod Lundy and wife, Noel, of Yukon, OK, Heath Gossen and wife, Joye Beth, of Hydro, OK, Cheryl Pridey and husband, Derek, of Oberlin, KS, Alysia Yoder and husband, Scott, of Hillsboro, KS, Allison Flaming and husband, Aaron, of Bessie, OK, Reid Gossen and wife, Morgan, of Moore, OK, Lane Gossen and wife, Stephanie, of Hobart, OK and Pate Gossen, of Corn, OK and 11 great-grandchildren, Emarie Gossen, Kasidy Gossen, Ella Gossen, Barrett Waters, Gage Gossen, Zoye Gossen, Chelidy Pridey, Jedidiah Pridey, Viley Pridey, Kale Flaming and Elijah Gossen.

Funeral Services for Ella Jane Gossen, 82, Corn resident, will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2014 in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church, officiated by Rev. Tim Sandy and Rev. Ken Gardner. Burial will conclude in the Corn Cemetery
