Morton, Drury, born about 1829 in Alabama, son of James and Mary Ann Durham Morton, enlisted as a private 26 Jul 1862 in Blountsville by W.H. Hundley; on muster roll dated 26 Jul 1862 at Falkville in Morgan County; muster roll from 30 Apr to 30 Jun 1864 reported he enlisted at Chepultepec by A.J. Ingram, was absent sick in Blount County 13 Jul 1863; muster roll from 30 Jun to 31 Dec 1864 reported he was absent sick 15 Nov 1864; captured at Middleton, Tennessee 22 May 1863 and forwarded to Nashville 23 May 1863; transferred to Military Prison, Louisville, Kentucky 26 May 1863; sent to Fort McHenry/Baltimore, Maryland 3 Jun 1863 and later sent to Fort Monroe, Virginia; no further record; also reported in Company F. According to descendants, Drury married Mary Ann Hallmark 25 Nov 1854, Blount County. Mary was born 10 Jan 1830 and died Mar 1922; Drury Morton died about 1875 in Henderson County, Texas.
